Our Board

Our Clinic is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected annually from and by our Clinic members. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a member of our Clinic or in participating in any events or campaigns that our Clinic is involved with.

Rick Lafleur


Rick Lafleur joined our Board of Directors in 2012, became acting-chair in 2014, and was elected Chairperson in 2015.

Rick is a retired leader of the Ontario Provincial Police. He also has been active in many charitible and non-profit organizations such as:

  • City Council
  • Member of the Sensenbrenner Hospital
  • Chairperson of the North Centennial Manor

Nathalie Mallette


Nathalie Mallette joined our Board of Directors in 2018 and was elected treasurer in 2020.

She studied at the University of Ottawa and Humber College.  She has gained experience working as a consultant with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and University as a Court Clerk with the Attorney General and as a Manager of the Timmins-Temiskaming community Legal Clinic, where she has gained most of her knowledge of the social justice system.  Throughout her career, Nathalie has always been generous with her time having sat on the Board of Directors for the Northern Ontario LHIN, the Public Library, the North Centennial Manor, the non-profit Housing, the POA, and remains actively involved with the local Festivals as the General Manager of Community and corporate Services for the Town of Kapuskasing.

Julie Simard


Julie Simard joined our Board of Directors in 2016, and was elected secretary in 2018.

Julie is a registered Social Worker and an accredited Family Mediator. She operates a private practice through which she provides counselling and family mediation services. She also provides family court – connected family mediation, information and referral services to individuals in our communities who are experiencing separation/divorce.

André Lehoux


André Lehoux joined our Board of Directors in 2015.

He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Ottawa in 1991, subsequently obtained his law degree in 1994 and was called to the Bar in 1996.  André has been practicing in Hearst in his general practice of law for 20 years.  He was Chairman of the Board of Directors for Maison Arc-en-Ciel for more than 10 years.  He was a member of the Notre-Dame de Hearst Hospital Foundation team for 10 years.  He is also a member of AJEFO as well as the Cochrane Law Association.

Clarice Wilcox


Clarice Wilcox joined our Board of Directors in 2014, with the goal of further empowering people and to help provide a voice for the vulnerable.

Clarice is a bilingual Kapuskasing resident that has 10 years of experience working in Indigenous Community driven programs.   During her studies at University of Waterloo, her work revolved around issues of poverty where she became involved with social justice organizations such as:

  • Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA),
  • Canadian Council for Social Development (CCSD) and;
  • Council of Canadians.

Guylaine Coulombe


Guylaine Coulombe joined our Board of Directors in 2016.

She practiced law in the past and worked in the field of Human Resources for a number of years.  She now holds the position of CAO/Clerk for the Municipality of Mattice Val-Côté.
